I’m Mark Rodgers, a photographer based in Tasmania. My photography is constantly evolving, showcasing the raw wilderness and diverse beauty Tasmania has to offer.

When out amongst nature, I feel like an observer. A big part of my photography comes from noticing movement. Light moving across land formations, bringing life to everything in its path, bull kelp swaying with the tidal flow and water cascading over rocks, always finding its own way.

We all see things differently. If I’m standing in front of an iconic landscape and the light is right, I’ll photograph it. But over time, my vision and the way I think about photography has changed. I’ve found myself looking deeper into a scene, beyond the obvious, searching for those smaller details and moments that might otherwise be overlooked. Like in nature nothing is perfect, and nor is my photography. I just want to capture an image that tells a story.

And so, if you take the time to look at my images, I encourage you to take a little time to find the story. Look beyond the obvious and perhaps you’ll notice something you may have otherwise missed.
