A little about me
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to look through my website.
I’m Mark Rodgers, a photographer based in Tasmania. I’m a constantly evolving as a photographer.I use photography to show the wildness and diversity Tasmania has to offer.
When I’m out there, I feel like an observer. A big part of my photography comes from noticing the movement in nature. Light moving across land formations, bringing life to everything in its path. Bull kelp swaying with the tidal flow. Water cascading over rocks, always finding a different path. As photographers, we all see things differently. Of course, if I’m standing in front of an iconic landscape and the light is right, I’ll photograph It. But over time, my vision and the way I think about photography have changed. I’ve found myself looking deeper into a scene, beyond the obvious, searching for the smaller details and moments that might otherwise be overlooked. I’m drawn to the often overlooked image within an image. In nature, nothing is perfect, and nor is my photography.
My aim is to encourage people to take a little time to absorb an image, to look beyond the obvious and perhaps notice something they may otherwise missed. And when they walk away, I hope they see Tasmania as just a little more intriguing than they did before.
